Today, World Handwashing Day is being celebrated in Nepal with various programs. We have celebrated world Handwashing Day in Nepal since October 15, 2008.
Various studies have shown that the habit of frequent hand washing with soap can reduce respiratory and pneumonia infections and diarrhea and also prevent diseases caused by bacteria.
According to doctors, after using the toilet, after washing children’s faeces, after dirtying hands, before preparing food, before eating and feeding, after touching the face, nose, mouth, eyes, after returning home from outside, the habit of washing hands regularly should be developed. Also, children should be taught to wash their hands with soap at home.
Washing hands with soap and water is an easy, effective and economical way to prevent bacterial and viral diseases and save lives. It is said that by washing your hands with soapy water, you can get rid of germs and protect yourself and the surrounding people from getting sick.
