According to Arab News, a woman in the UAE underwent plastic surgery on her nose to look her best on her wedding day, but the shape of her nose deteriorated after the surgery. This made her face look strange. Seeing this, the bridegroom broke off the engagement and refused to get married. This made her very sad. The young woman filed a lawsuit against the Dubai-based polyclinic and surgeon. He was accused of causing physical, emotional, moral, and financial harm. The girl had demanded more than Rs 8.6 million as compensation.
The victim said she underwent surgery in 2020 at a polyclinic in Dubai to correct the shape of her nose. Clinic surgeons treated her with Botox injections and fillers. Upon reaching home, the woman’s nose began to swell and her head began to ache. After that, the woman went to the clinic to see the surgeon, where she was told to compress with an ice pack. After applying the ice pack, the woman’s pain and swelling increased instead of decreasing. She then went to the clinic, where the same surgeon gave her two injections, painkillers, and ointments to heal her face and wounds.
When the woman’s nose did not heal for several weeks, the surgeon called another doctor at the clinic. The doctor removed the crust from the woman’s nose. Apply ointment and bandage. According to media reports, the woman was bleeding from her nose while returning home from a taxi. The driver then took her to a nearby private hospital. In 2021, the woman filed a lawsuit against the polyclinic and the surgeon.
A committee of experts from the Dubai Health Care Authority was formed following the woman’s complaint. The committee found the surgeon guilty. During the operation, more than 10 percent disability was seen in the nose of the woman. The committee pointed out that surgeons are ignorant about all the techniques required for plastic surgery. Instead of having the woman’s surgery done by a specialist, she did it herself. At the same time, the polyclinic has been held responsible for performing surgeries on such women.
The woman told the court that her marriage was dissolved because her face was disfigured. I had to quit my job. At the same time, she lost hope of getting married. He faced mental and emotional problems. In December 2021, the court ruled against the polyclinic and the surgeon. In addition, the woman was awarded Rs 414,000 in compensation. The victim had applied to the appellate court to uphold the case.
